  • Rec Camp is a conference focused on indoor community recreation, dedicated to educating Parks & Recreation professionals about planning, designing, building, and operating Community Recreation Centers.

    • Tours: Two days of guided tours of 10 recreation centers, including a renovation of a 1996 center, to neighborhood centers and a center with a tournament fieldhouse, with facility operators on-hand to answer your questions.

  • Rec CAMP was born out of the Colorado Facility Design and Management School in 2018 as a way to provide education through tours and workshops with CEU credits through Colorado Parks & Recreation Association (CPRA).

    Rec CAMP was held in the Denver Metro Area, Colorado from 2018 to 2024. Rec CAMP was held in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area from 2025 to 2027.

  • Registration for the 2027 session will close on March 30, 2027.

  • Yes! As long as you attend all the sessions, bus rides, tours and Q&A sessions you will get the full amount of Continuing Education Credits.

    The number of CEUs given for 2027 will be confirmed at a later date.

  • In order to create a personal experience, we limit registration to 44 people. This allows us to group registrants into teams of 8-10 people with two counselors per team.

    We kindly request no more than 4 registrants per agency to ensure as many agencies as possible can be represented.

  • Yes, you can sign up to our waitlist by filling out the registration form.

    44 people is our limit for registrations.

    If spots are filled while registering multiple people, you can only register up to the amount left. If we exceed our limit, you must fill out a new form to join a waitlist. Only one person can be registered per order for the waitlist to maintain integrity of the waitlist system. We will contact the first person on the waitlist when there is a cancellation.

    • Certificate of Completion + alum pin

    • Continuing education units (CEUs) if full attendance is recorded

  • Lunch will be provided Tuesday and Wednesday. Food and cocktails will be provided Monday evening. Rec CAMP will conclude at 12pm on Thursday.

  • The half-day Community Planning Workshop on Thursday is an interactive session focused on the planning, design, and operations of community recreation centers. View video

    Facilitators will guide groups through a role-playing scenario with real life applications. Use all your knowledge from the tours to build a recreation center for a sample community.

    We often hear this is one of the most valuable portions of Rec CAMP. Don't miss it!

  • We will begin and end each day at Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center.

    We have a block of rooms reserved.

  • Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel has a fitness center, pool, bar, and on-site restaurant. Visit the hotel website for more information.

  • Meet at the host hotel (Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel) to catch a bus for tour days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Rec CAMP will provide a tour bus to take participants around the DFW area to tour 10 recreation facilities. The bus starts and ends each day at our host hotel. For locals, please plan on taking the bus since the education continues on the bus.

    On Thursday, the last session will take place at the host hotel.
